Apart from the smaller 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine, this variant of the Creta lacked any distinctive characteristics. Found in the Hyundai Venue 1.0 and i20, the engine of this Hyundai Creta is the same 1.0-litre GDI turbo petrol unit, generating 120 hp and 172 Nm. It has been further changed to run on E100 ethanol, devoid of any petrol blend. The six-speed torque converter automatic on this SUV manages the transmission chores.
Although Hyundai has not stated intentions to introduce a 1.0-turbo Creta in India, the SUV was displayed at the Auto Expo to underline Hyundai’s flexibility regarding flex-fuel technologies. The Creta is already on sale in India with two petrol models, a diesel and the just-introduced Creta Electric, among several powertrain choices.
