Launching a new single-seat form of the Pulsar N160 at Rs 1,21,722 (ex-showroom Pune), Bajaj has made it Rs 11,278 more reasonably priced than the dual-channel ABS model. Actually, it even undercuts the base trim price of the Pulsar N150, which comes out to be Rs 1,25,862 (ex-shown). There are also some hardware upgrades to this new variation.
Variants in Bajaj Pulsar N160 Ex-Showroom Price
NEW single seat: Rs 1,21,722;
Dual-channel ABS: Rs 1,33,408;
Dual-channel ABS with USD fork: Rs 1,39,693
Bajaj Pulsar N160 Single Seat Variant
Rather than the split-seat arrangement, the new Bajaj Pulsar N160 Single Seat model features a long, contoured seat. Its single-channel ABS configuration instead of the dual-channel ABS and a more practical single-piece grab grip also set it apart. Conventional 37mm telescopic fork and an adjustable mono-shock handle suspension duties.
The bike stays exactly the same elsewhere. Its same 164.2cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine generates 14.65Nm of peak torque and 16PS of maximum power. Its anchor configuration is a 300mm front and 230mm rear disc arrangement. Its 17-inch wheel configuration calls for a 100-section front tyre and a 130-section rear tyre. At 795mm, the seat height remains the same.
Features-wise, the new edition boasts a digital cluster with Bluetooth connectivity to display call/SMS alerts and LED headlamps set up. It sadly ignores ABS modes and the navigation aid function.
Particularly since it undercuts even the lowest trim of the Pulsar N150, the new Bajaj Pulsar N160 single-seat model appeals to budget-conscious consumers. Apart from improving comfort for lone riders, the single-seat design provides the bike with a unique look compared to its twin-seat equivalent. Dual-channel ABS absence, however, might compromise ride dynamics and braking performance.
