One of India’s leading electric scooter producers, Ola, has launched its Gen 3 scooters. It comes in 4 models- S1 X, S1 X+, S1 Pro and S1 Pro+. These scooters come with revamped features like Anti -lock Braking System (ABS) for enhanced safety, a chain drive featuring pre-lubricated O-rings, which are expected to last twice as long as the belt drive system used in previous models and tailored with sensors on the brake lever to balance brake pad wear and motor resistance that increases the range 15% and doubling the brake pad lifespan. It comes in 3 battery packs – The S1 Pro model has 3kWh and 4kWh batteries, while the Pro+ variant offers 4kWh or 5.3kWh. It also introduced its new operating software, MoveOS 5 in this model. This OS will also enable riders to secure the scooter with personal devices like a smartphone phone, alert their emergency contact in the case of a mishap and provide the location of all the chargers on the map for road trips. Ola is introducing lower prices for the Gen 3 scooters compared to Gen 2, while Gen 2 will continue to remain in the market. Orders open from February and deliveries will commence from mid-February.
Ola Gen 3 S1 X
The motor is a mid-drive one that replaces the previous hub- mounted one. The breaks have also been changed to a disc-break at the front. It is claimed to have 242 km IDC range, a 7kW motor and a 123 kph top speed.
Ola Gen 3 S1 X+
The S1 X+ betters the S1 X in having a 125kph top speed and a quicker time of 2.7 seconds in the 0-40 kph sprint as it packs a more powerful 11kW motor. It is available in a single variant 4kWh with 242 km IDC range.
Ola Gen 3 Pro
The S1 Pro is available in two battery variants – 3kWh and 4kWh. It is slightly different from other models having a higher 125kph top speed and can manage the 0-40 kph sprint in 2.7s. It has an enhanced infotainment technology with a touchscreen TFT display.
Ola Gen 3 Pro+
The S1 Pro+ is the most powerful electric scooter with a 13kW motor and 141 kph claimed top speed and a 0-40 kph sprint takes just 2.1 seconds.

It ranges from Rs 79,999 to Rs 1.70 lakhs.
