The Maruti Suzuki Eeco MPV has received a model-year update, prioritizing safety and passenger comfort. A key highlight of the revamped Eeco is the addition of six airbags, now standard across the entire range. This significant upgrade enhances passenger safety and brings the vehicle up to par with modern safety standards. The Eeco also features three-point seatbelts for all passengers, with seatbelt pre-tensioners and force limiters for the front seats, further emphasizing its focus on safety.
In terms of design, the Eeco retains its distinctive look with rectangular halogen headlamps and vertically-oriented tail-lamps. The vehicle sits on 13-inch steel wheels without covers. Inside, the Eeco now features fabric seat upholstery, replacing the previous PVC upholstery, and outboard reclining front seats, providing added comfort for passengers. For the 5-seat variants, the boot also features luggage retention, which restricts luggage movement during collisions to ensure passenger safety.
The Eeco is powered an 80hp, 1.2-litre petrol engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The engine now supports E20 fuel, and a 70hp CNG variant is also available. The pricing for the Eeco starts at Rs 5.69 lakh for the entry-level 5-seat trim, with the top-spec 5-seater AC CNG variant priced at Rs 6.95 lakh. Notably, the 6-seater Eeco, priced at Rs 5.98 lakh, is now the most affordable car in India to offer second-row captain seats. With these updates, the Maruti Suzuki Eeco combines enhanced safety features, comfort, and affordability, making it a compelling choice in its segment.
