Yamaha has introduced the MT-09 Hybrid prototype, a hybrid motorcycle that combines a petrol engine with an electric motor. The electric motor is positioned above the engine and operates in different modes, allowing the bike to run as an electric vehicle at startup. The petrol engine kicks in when more power and torque are required.

The MT-09 Hybrid prototype features a round LCD display on the handlebar, providing real-time information on battery charge and remaining range. The bike’s design has been tweaked with a redesigned headlight, modified body panels for improved airflow, a heat sink integrated into the fuel tank, and new air-intake panels.
