
BMW Motorrad has launched the R 1300 RT and R 1300 RS in the global market, catering to two distinct segments of riders. The R 1300 RS is a sports tourer designed for performance and agility, while the R 1300 RT is a luxury touring motorcycle focused on comfort and long-distance travel.
Power and Performance
Both motorcycles are powered a new 1300cc boxer-twin engine that produces 145 bhp at 7,750 rpm and 149 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm. The R 1300 RS boasts a top speed of 240 kmph, while the R 1300 RT can reach speeds over 200 kmph. Both bikes feature a 6-speed gearbox to harness the engine’s power.
Suspension and Brakes
The R 1300 RT and R 1300 RS come equipped with BMW’s Motorrad EVO-Telelever suspension up front and Motorrad EVO-Paralever with a cast aluminum single-sided swingarm at the rear. Braking duties are handled twin 310 mm discs in the front with 4-piston calipers and a single 285 mm disc with 2-piston calipers at the rear.
Wheels and Tyres
Both motorcycles feature the same wheel and tyre sizes: 120/70 ZR17 in the front and 190/55 ZR17 at the rear. With their impressive performance capabilities and advanced features, the BMW R 1300 RT and R 1300 RS are set to make a mark in the luxury touring and sports touring segments.
