Suzuki Launches 2025 GSX-8R in India at ₹9.25 Lakh: A New Supersport Contender

Suzuki GSX-8R

Suzuki has rolled out the 2025 GSX-8R in India at a price of ₹9.25 lakh (ex-showroom). To say this supersport is much-anticipated would be an understatement. Suzuki considers the launch to be the much-needed jolt for the middleweight segment. Positioned between parallel-twins and liter-class, the GSX-8R acts as the middle ground for performance, comfort, and modern-day features.

At the heart of the GSX-8R is this 776cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin in‐line engine from GSX-8S and V-Strom 800. It produces 82 bhp and 78 Nm torque and is coupled with a six-speed gearbox and a bi-directional quickshifter for grease-smooth shifts. Suzuki has tuned the bike for a nice punch in the mid-range torque department so that mid-range is fun to use during city runs and more endearing at highway speeds.

Design-wise, the 8R wears a sharply aggressive fairing with the split LED headlamp and a sculpted tan-k. It uses essentially the same steel frame as the GSX-8S but gets better Showa suspension components and improved aerodynamics for more track-ready behavior.

Being a relatively well-priced supersport-grade motorcycle, the GSX-8R features a 5-inch TFT instrument cluster, traction control, dual-channel ABS, and ride-by-wire throttle. It meets OBD-2B norms and latest emission standards.

Has it not been made as a fully assembled unit (CBU), the price would not be so high. In direct competition with Yamaha R7 and Kawasaki Ninja 650, the GSX-8R is adding some new energy into a segment that offers sporty looks and real-world usability.

For riders seeking a capable, stylish, and engaging middleweight sportbike, the 2025 Suzuki GSX-8R offers a promising package with a premium Suzuki badge to back it up.
