TVS Motor Company has launched the TVS Orbiter V1 in India as the most affordable model in its electric scooter lineup. The new variant comes with a smaller battery pack and a lower price tag to make electric mobility more accessible. The launch expands the Orbiter range and offers buyers a more budget-friendly option in the growing EV market.
Battery, Range and Charging
The TVS Orbiter V1 is powered by a 1.8kWh battery pack. It joins the existing Orbiter lineup, which now includes two variants. The new TVS Orbiter V1 uses the smaller battery, while the Orbiter V2 continues with a larger 3.1kWh battery pack.The TVS Orbiter V1 offers a claimed IDC range of 86km on a full charge, making it suitable for daily city commuting. Charging is also convenient. The battery can charge from 0 to 80 percent in around 2 hours and 20 minutes.
Practical Design and Storage
The TVS Orbiter V1 focuses on comfort and practicality. It features a long and flat seat measuring 845mm, providing ample seating space for the rider and pillion. The scooter also includes a 290mm footboard, which improves rider comfort and legroom.For storage, the TVS Orbiter V1 offers 34 litres of under-seat storage, allowing riders to carry helmets, bags, and other daily essentials.
Instrument Cluster and Smart Connectivity
The TVS Orbiter V1 comes with a coloured LCD instrument cluster that displays important riding information. The display also supports incoming call alerts and connects with a smartphone app for additional features.The connectivity suite in the TVS Orbiter V1 includes turn-by-turn navigation, battery status monitoring, and call and SMS alerts. The scooter also gets a front LED headlamp with a visor, which enhances visibility and styling.
Safety and Convenience Features
TVS has equipped the TVS Orbiter V1 with several modern safety and convenience technologies. These include crash and fall alerts, anti-theft alerts, geo-fencing, and time-fencing.The TVS Orbiter V1 also offers rider assistance features such as hill-hold assist, cruise control, and parking assist. In addition, the scooter supports over-the-air (OTA) updates, allowing software updates without visiting a service centre.
TVS Orbiter V1 Price in India
The TVS Orbiter V1 price in India starts at ₹84,500 (ex-showroom Delhi), which includes benefits under the PM e-Drive scheme.Buyers can also choose the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) option. With this scheme, the effective purchase price of the TVS Orbiter V1 drops to ₹49,999. This makes the scooter around ₹15,000 cheaper than the Orbiter V2, which is priced at ₹99,900.
