
BMW Motorrad has launched the BMW M 1000 R in India at an ex-showroom price of Rs 33.50 lakh. The high-performance naked motorcycle brings race-derived technology from BMW’s superbike lineup. It is designed for riders who want track-level performance combined with advanced electronics and aggressive street styling.
Colour Options
The BMW M 1000 R is available in three colour schemes. The base variant is offered in Light White/M Motorsport. The White Aluminium Metallic Matte colour is available with both the base variant and the M Competition Package. Meanwhile, Blackstorm Metallic/M Motorsport is offered exclusively with the M Competition Package. These colours highlight the motorcycle’s sporty design and strong motorsport identity.
Aerodynamics and Design
The BMW M 1000 R features several design elements inspired by BMW’s RR superbike models. The motorcycle gets a distinctive dual-flow LED headlight, which improves illumination while enhancing the aggressive front-end design.The bike also features M Winglets that generate additional aerodynamic downforce. These winglets improve front-end stability, especially at higher speeds. Buyers who choose the M Competition Package also receive lightweight M Carbon wheels, which help reduce weight and improve handling and agility.
Engine and Performance

Powering the BMW M 1000 R is a 999cc four-cylinder engine designed for high performance and thrilling riding dynamics. The engine produces 210 hp (154 kW) at 13,750 rpm and 113 Nm of torque at 11,100 rpm.The motorcycle can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds. It can also reach a top speed of around 280 km/h, making it one of the fastest naked motorcycles available in the market.The engine features BMW ShiftCam technology, which improves torque and pulling power at lower and medium speeds. At the same time, it maintains strong peak power at higher engine speeds, delivering a balanced and powerful riding experience.
Electronics and Riding Modes
The BMW M 1000 R is equipped with an updated Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) system derived from BMW’s RR superbikes. This system improves traction during aggressive riding and enhances stability.The motorcycle offers multiple riding modes to adapt to different road conditions and riding styles. These include Rain, Road, Dynamic, Race, and Race Pro 1-3 modes. These systems work with a 6-axis sensor box that manages traction control and the wheelie control function to ensure optimal performance and safety.
Throttle and Riding Experience
BMW has equipped the BMW M 1000 R with an M Quick Action Throttle. This system reduces the rotation angle required to reach full throttle. As a result, riders get faster throttle response and quicker acceleration, which enhances the overall riding experience.The M Competition Package further enhances the motorcycle with a combination of performance-focused components and premium aesthetic elements, appealing to riders who want both track performance and exclusive styling.

The BMW M 1000 R comes with a 6.5-inch TFT instrument cluster that displays clear riding information.
