BMW X1 LWB

BMW India has introduced the new BMW X1 Long Wheelbase (LWB) in the country at an introductory price of Rs 49.90 lakh (ex-showroom). Unlike the standard X1, the new long-wheelbase version puts a greater emphasis on rear-seat comfort, with a substantially stretched wheelbase and more legroom for passengers.

The BMW X1 LWB is locally manufactured at BMW Group Plant Chennai and is available with a petrol powertrain. Bookings are now open through BMW dealerships across India.
The biggest talking point is the additional cabin space. BMW has increased the wheelbase by 108mm, while rear legroom has grown by 150mm and kneeroom by 109mm. This makes the X1 LWB a more rear-passenger-focused proposition in the premium SUV segment.

BMW X1 LWB Price in India and Warranty

The BMW X1 LWB is priced at an introductory Rs 49.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The price includes applicable GST but excludes road tax, registration charges, tax collected at source (TCS), insurance and local levies. BMW has stated that the price applicable at the time of invoicing will be considered.

The SUV gets a standard two-year warranty with unlimited kilometres and two years of roadside assistance. BMW also offers service packages starting from three years or 40,000km, with coverage extendable up to 10 years or 1,00,000km. The warranty can also be extended for up to 10 years.

BMW claims the X1 LWB is the longest vehicle in its segment. The rear seat cushion has also been extended by 15mm, while the rear seats can recline by up to 28.5 degrees. Boot capacity stands at 540 litres and can be increased to 1,700 litres with the rear seats folded.

BMW X1 LWB vs Standard X1: What Changes?

The key difference between the two versions is the extended wheelbase.
