BMW Introduced the locally assembled iX1 LWB electric SUV

BMW iX1 LWB

The Bharat Mobility Expo 2025 saw a remarkable moment when BMW India showcases the new BMW iX1 Long Wheelbase (LWB) electric SUV. It is the first electric BMW built locally in India which priced at ₹49 lakh (ex-showroom). It is also assembled in the company’s Chennai factory.

Design and dimensions

The trademark of iX1 LWB has BMW is the kidney grille with a distinctive “I” logo and slim adaptive LED headlights along with that 18-inch M light alloy wheels. The unique feature is to add the L-shaped LED taillights, an integrated spoiler, and a skid plate add to the vehicle’s current appearance. The wheelbase is also expanded to 2,800 mm (a 112 mm increase) allows for extra rear passenger capacity. The overall length has increased to 4,616 mm, which improves both inside comfort and outside appearance. The model comes in five vibrant and stylistic colours: Mineral White, Skyscraper Grey, M Carbon Black, M Portimao Blue, and Sparkling Copper Grey.

Luxury Features

The iX1 LWB reflects BMW’s distinctive elegant design, with a “Widescreen Curved Display” that combines a 10.26-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.6-inch infotainment screen. Other notable features include a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, wireless phone charging, and a 205W 12-speaker audio system. Most advanced safety features can be seen as Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), several airbags, ISOFIX child seat anchors, and park assist.

BMW provides a standard two-year warranty with unlimited km, which can be extended up to ten years or two lakh km. Customers can also enjoy a complimentary five-year Roadside Assistance service. BMW iX1 LWB is going to redefine luxury electric mobility in India.
