CFMoto, the Chinese two-wheeler manufacturer, introduced a new three-cylinder engine concept a few days ago, and now, the specifications are out. The company says that it is the lightest triple engine in the market.
The engine has a displacement of 675cc, and the company claims that the motor can produce over 100bhp and 67Nm of torque. The engine will come paired to a six-speed gearbox. The engine is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100kmph in three seconds.
Speaking of the construction itself, CFMoto claims that the company has used forged aluminium pistons to keep the weight low. CFMoto claims that the engine is 10 percent lighter than competitors and weighs just 55kg.
The engine is expected to make its debut with the CFMoto 675SR. The other motorcycles, including a street naked, will soon follow with the same engine, probably in different states of tune. The company has also patented a 1000cc V4 engine, capable of 200bhp, which will power a street bike in the future.
