
Ducati has made its debut in the motocross segment with the introduction of the Desmo450 MX, its first-ever motocross motorcycle. The bike is designed to deliver exceptional performance and handling.
Engine and Performance
The Desmo450 MX features a newly developed 449.6cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine with a 96mm bore and a 62.1mm stroke. This engine produces an impressive 62bhp and 54Nm of torque, with a rev limit of 11,900rpm.
Electronic Features
The Desmo450 MX is equipped with segment-first electronic features, including:
- Traction control
- Two riding modes
- Launch control
- Engine brake control
Weight and Suspension
The bike weighs 104.8kg (wet weight with no fuel), making it relatively light. The suspension is race-ready, with a fully adjustable 49mm Showa fork at the front and a fully adjustable monoshock at the rear.
Braking System
Brembo handles the braking duties, with a two-piston floating caliper biting a 260mm disc up front and a single-piston caliper mated to a 240mm disc at the rear.
Availability and Pricing
The Desmo450 MX will be available in the United States soon, with a starting price of around $11,459 (approximately Rs 10 lakh in India).
