Hero Xtreme 250R: Hero MotoCorp’s Bold Entry into the Quarter-Litre Segment

The Hero MotoCorp had long waited before entering the quarter litre category, it was only at the Auto Expo 2025 that the company first launched the Xtreme 250R. This naked bike which is starting from ₹1.80 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) is aimed at those individuals who would like to get the most out of the bike.

Design and Features
The Xtreme 250R is one for a naked bike that comes with street fighter looks, and this is seen on the muscular fuel tank and other body components of the bike. This is because Karizma has short wheelbase which makes it to be of low height as compared to another model known as Karizma XMR 210. It has 4.2 inches color TFT screen that can support communication with the smartphone and offers riders directions and messages. Another form is a USB C-type charger is also common as well.

Outlook and Parameters
Similar to the Karizma XMR 210 the Xtreme 250R has a trellis frame and is powered with a new 250cc, single cylinder, liquid cooled engine. It produces 29.58 bhp at 9,250 rpm of power and 25 Nm at 7,250 rpm of torque and with the help of which this bike takes approximately 3 seconds to consume 0 – 60 km/h gap. It comes with a 43 mm USD fork for suspension, a monoshock and a 320 mm front disc for braking with a corresponding 230 mm rear disc for the braking activity with the dual channel ABS.

Market Positioning
Now with the Xtreme 250R, Hero MotoCorp aims to set its mark in the premium bikes segment against bikes like Honda CB300F, Suzuki Gixxer 250, and KTM 250 Duke. The said move is in line with the Direction the CEO Niranjan Gupta of expanding models in the premium segment and new scooters March 2025.
