
Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP Returns to India
Honda has again introduced its top-of-the-line superbike CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP in India, currently offered at the launch price of ₹28.99 lakh. This version, enriched with experience from HRC and born from that association, is capable of delivering MotoGP-style grace and power to the streets.
Powerful Engine and Transmission
At the engine bay is a 999cc inline-four engine churning out a good power of 217.5 hp at 14,000 rpm and torque of 113 Nm at 12,000 rpm, mated to a 6-speed gearbox with bi-directional quickshifter and ride-by-wire throttle.
Lightweight Chassis and Advanced Suspension
Chassis-wise, the diamond frame of the bike is aluminum and lightweight. The swingarm is MotoGP-style and is electronically suspended with an Öhlins EC 3.0 on the front and the rear shock.
Braking and Safety Tech
In terms of performance and stopping, It is all Brembo Nano-sized Stylema calipers gripping twin 330 mm front discs and a 220 mm rear disc. All this is run through a six-axis IMU that also looks after controlling traction, wheelie control, engine braking, and launch control-whether good or bad, the bike will be off in a heartbeat and as fast on the road as it is on the track.
Positioning Against Rivals
The Fireblade SP, whose pricing almost rivals that of the Ducati Panigale V4 (₹30 lakh+), goes a bit differently in approach, focusing on fine race pedigree and pure performance rather than competing on pure specs with others. Honda wants to cater to the riders who value tight engineering, reliability, and a true superbike feel.
