Milestone Achievement
One more-century sales record: Kia has just sold its one-millionth vehicle in Australia since first entering the market. The milestone vehicle was a Denim Blue Tasman X-Pro Dual Cab pickup, handed over at Motorama Kia in Queensland. The occasion was celebrated with an event attended by a few Kia officials and brand ambassadors.
Journey to One Million Sales
It took Kia 30 years to reach that first 500,000 number. That milestone was hit in 2018. But for a mere seven-year span later, the brand doubled that figure to one million. Kia claims this growth was brought on by their expanding model range, which served its varied markets well, local tuning activities, and, most importantly, a full focus on the customer.
Best-Selling Models & Record Year
Kia sales are second-only to models that have deep-rooted appeal to Australian buyers. The Cerato (K4) is leading with over 200,000 sales, followed by Sportage, Rio, and Carnival people-movers. 2024 is also the year’s record sales for Kia, crossing the mark of 80,000 plus sales nationally.
Strengthened Brand Presence
This achievement also strengthens Kia’s brand presence in the country, as evidenced by winning the Dealer Satisfaction Survey in 2022 and earning the trust of customers with Toyota-level service quality.
Future Growth Plans
Looking ahead, Kia Australia has set ambitious targets to reach sales levels of about 90,000 vehicles in 2025 and grow further in 2026. The new launches like the all-new Tasman ute, which should secure a strong position in the pickup segment, and an expanding range of hybrids and EVs, EV3, EV5, and EV6, are at the core of this strategy.
Closing Reflection
Evidently, the one-million sales number is not merely a number, but it symbolizes Kia’s evolvement into a trusted and vibrant force in Australia that keeps innovating, expanding its lineup, and building customers’ undying loyalty.
