Mini debuted the new Cooper S with the JCW pack at the continuing Auto Expo 2025 for Rs 55.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The company started bookings today as well; deliveries are scheduled for April. Along with a sharper external and interior design, it boasts a more powerful engine than the ordinary Cooper S, already on sale in India.
The Mini Cooper S JCW runs a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with 231 hp. Its exterior and interior theme is blacked out with crimson highlights.
Though it has been uprated to generate 231 hp and 380 Nm of peak torque—27 hp and 80 Nm higher than the original—the new Mini JCW runs on the same 2.0-liter, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine as the standard Cooper. The motor is matched to a 7-speed DCT transmission with a paddle shifter, something the Cooper S does not have. Having a top speed of 250 kph, the Mini John Cooper Works can sprint from 0-100 kph in 6.1 seconds.
Along with bigger air vents, the JCW version of the Cooper receives a blacked-out front grille with the three-color John Cooper Works insignia compared to the ordinary Cooper. It also features unique JCW-customized LED DRLs that set it apart from the basic model even more The John Cooper Works at the back has a black rear diffuser, a new rear spoiler, and a centrally located tailpipe. Additionally scattered across are some crimson accents.
Inside, it adopts a red-and-black mohash JCW sports seat covered in black synthetic leather, multi-coloured knitted fabric, and red stitching. It also comes with a unique JCW sports steering wheel; the general cabin layout is the same as the regular model. As seen in the consistent Cooper S., the rest of the inside, including the circular floating infotainment screen, stays essentially the same, eccentric as it is.
