New BMW M340i Launch: BMW has released an upgraded version of its iconic performance sedan, the M340i, priced at Rs 74.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The M340i is at the top of the 3-Series series, just below the M3. It combines performance and elegance.
Bookings for the new M340i are now available at all BMW dealerships and through the company’s website. It has two new colour options: Arctic Race Blue and Fire Red.
The steering wheel now features a red center marker at the 12 o’clock position. The air conditioning vents have also been modified for a contemporary appearance. The revised model has the BMW Curved Display, which runs on the new 8.5 operating system, replacing the previous 8.0 OS.
The M340i includes a 14.9-inch touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, three-zone climate control, ambient lighting, a glass sunroof, a head-up display, wireless smartphone integration, BMW digital key, engine auto start/stop, and a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system.
Six airbags, a tyre pressure monitoring system, ISOFIX child seat mounts, an electric parking brake with auto hold, dynamic traction control, cornering brake control, and parking assistance with a rearview camera are just a few safety features.
Mechanically, the M340i is virtually unchanged, with the key difference being the standard fitment of the M Adaptive suspension. The M340i shares the same 3.0-litre, six-cylinder turbo-petrol engine with a 48V mild-hybrid system.
This configuration produces 369 bhp and 500 Nm of peak torque when combined with an 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission and BMW’s xDrive all-wheel-drive system. Paddle shifters are available for a more dynamic driving experience, and drivers may select between Sport and Sport+ settings.
The automobile goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds, making it India’s quickest internal combustion engine.
