Volvo XC Recharge reintroduced as EX 40

Volvo EX 40

For now, the EX40 runs on a 69kWh battery pack only in rear-wheel-drive mode. Claiming a range of 475km (WLTP cycle), it generates 238hp and 420Nm of torque. Technically, it stays the same from the XC40 Recharge.

Features wise the EX40 gets Pixel LED headlamps, two-zone climate control, a 12-inch digital driver’s display, a 9-inch infotainment unit, park assist, 19-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, powered front seats, wireless phone charging, 360-degree camera and a Harman Kardon sound system. The single-motor XC40 Recharge did not offer the last two features.

Currently shown on Volvo India’s website with offers of up to Rs 5.05 lakh, Volvo India still has some unsold stock of the XC40 Recharge. Only the single-motor XC40 Recharge is available, though; all twin-motor units are already sold out. Concurrent with this is the C40 Recharge, offered with offers of up to Rs 1.05 lakh and housed in the higher-spec 408hp twin-motor configuration with a larger 78kWh battery.
