At the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, showcases the Eicher Pro X Range, an electric-first line of small commercial vehicles (SCVs) which is introduced Bhopal-based Eicher Trucks and Buses, a division of VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV), With this calculated move and focussing on last-mile logistics, a crucial sector in India’s changing transportation environment Eicher enters the quickly growing 2-3.5 tonne market.

Investment and Market Vision
Vinod Aggarwal, the managing director and CEO of Eicher, highlighted the potential expansion of the segment. In last year SCV market sold 3.19 lakh units for ₹35,000 crore. He also said that “Even though only 438 electric units were sold, electric SCVs are the way of the future,”.
In terms of the investment Eicher has already spent ₹500 crore, and in 2025, it intends to invest a further ₹200 crore. Compared to its diesel cousin, which costs ₹12 per kilometre, the electric version is expected to cost only ₹2 per km which makes it affordable for the consumers.

Future Plans and Strategic Alliances
To support the charging infrastructure of India, Eicher has teamed up with charger, OEMs and charging point operators (CPOs). Additionally, the company has the plans like August 2025, the company intends to introduce a diesel version, and in December, a CNG version. These developments are meant to meet the needs of the major sectors such as package logistics, cold chains, FMCG, and e-commerce.
