Kawasaki has launched the 2027 Vulcan S in India at Rs 8.23 lakh (ex-showroom). The latest model-year update brings a higher torque output, smaller brake discs and a new colour scheme, while the motorcycle continues with the same 649cc parallel-twin engine and overall mechanical package.
The 2027 Kawasaki Vulcan S is Rs 10,000 more expensive than the outgoing 2026 model. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in mid-September 2026.
2027 Kawasaki Vulcan S Gets More Torque
The biggest engine-related change on the 2027 Kawasaki Vulcan S is the increase in torque output.
The motorcycle continues to use a 649cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine, producing 61 PS at 7,500rpm. Torque has increased from 61Nm on the 2026 model to 62.4Nm at 6,600rpm.
This restores the torque figure offered by the earlier version of the Vulcan S. The six-speed gearbox and the rest of the engine package remain unchanged.
Kawasaki Vulcan S Gets Smaller Brake Discs
Kawasaki has also revised the braking hardware for the 2027 model.
The motorcycle continues to use disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS, but both rotors are smaller than those fitted to the 2026 model.
The front disc has been reduced from 300mm to 272mm, while the rear disc now measures 216mm instead of 250mm.
The suspension setup remains unchanged. The Vulcan S uses a 41mm telescopic front fork with 130mm of travel and a linkage-mounted rear monoshock offering 80mm of travel and preload adjustment.

The 2027 Vulcan S retains its low-slung cruiser ergonomics, with a 705mm seat height and 130mm ground clearance. Its kerb mass remains 235kg.
The motorcycle continues with an analogue-digital instrument cluster, while dual-channel ABS remains the key rider-assistance feature.
2027 Kawasaki Vulcan S Gets New Colour
The 2027 Kawasaki Vulcan S is available in a new Metallic Carbon Gray / Metallic Bluish Green colour combination.
The new finish replaces the Metallic Flat Spark Black shade offered on the 2026 model.

Kawasaki has priced the 2027 Vulcan S at Rs 8.23 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. This represents a Rs 10,000 increase over the outgoing 2026 model, which was priced at Rs 8.13 lakh.
The motorcycle occupies a relatively niche position in India’s middleweight cruiser market. The Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 is one of its closest alternatives, although it is considerably more affordable, with a price of around Rs 4.05 lakh.

The 2027 Kawasaki Vulcan S is a modest model-year update rather than a major overhaul. The return of the 62.4Nm torque output is the most notable performance change, while the new colour gives the cruiser a fresh appearance.
The reduction in brake-disc size is an unusual change for a model-year update, but Kawasaki has otherwise retained the Vulcan S’s established mechanical package and low-seat cruiser configuration.
