Suzuki Motorcycle India has introduced the Hayabusa Special Edition in India at Rs 19.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The flagship superbike also receives a set of updates to its battery, electronic rider aids and colour palette. The standard Hayabusa is priced at Rs 18.99 lakh, placing the Special Edition Rs 91,000 above the regular model.

Hayabusa Special Edition: What Is New?

The Special Edition is designed primarily as an exclusive styling and equipment package rather than a performance variant. It gets a Pearl Vigor Blue finish, dedicated decals, a distinctive wheel finish, a 3D fuel-tank emblem and a factory-fitted single-seat cowl.

  • 3D fuel-tank emblem

Standard Hayabusa Also Gets New Colours

The regular Suzuki Hayabusa is now available with three new dual-tone combinations:

New Lithium-Ion Battery

Both Hayabusa versions now use an ELIIY Power lithium-ion battery in place of the conventional unit. The newer battery is lighter and more compact, helping reduce weight while updating the motorcycle’s electrical package.

Revised Electronics and Cruise Control

Suzuki has recalibrated the Launch Control System and Power Mode Selector. The Smart Cruise Control system has also been reconfigured to remain operational during clutchless gear changes without cancelling the selected road-speed setting.

1,340cc Inline-Four Engine Continues

The Hayabusa continues with its 1,340cc liquid-cooled, inline-four-cylinder engine. The Special Edition does not introduce a separate engine tune or mechanical performance upgrade over the standard motorcycle.

Suzuki Hayabusa: A Brief History

The Suzuki Hayabusa GSX1300R debuted globally in 1999 and quickly became one of the most recognisable high-speed production motorcycles. The name Hayabusa is Japanese for peregrine falcon, referencing the bird’s high-speed hunting dive.

Before 2016: CBU imports

The Hayabusa was initially sold in India through Completely Built Unit imports, keeping prices high and limiting its customer base.

2016: Local assembly

Suzuki Motorcycle India began assembling the second-generation Hayabusa in Gurgaon, Haryana, helping make the motorcycle more accessible in the Indian superbike market.

2021: Third generation

The third-generation Hayabusa arrived with a modernised electronics package and updated emissions compliance while retaining the model’s distinctive design and large-capacity inline-four engine.

Suzuki Hayabusa vs Key Rivals in India

Suzuki Hayabusa Special Edition

The Hayabusa competes in a broader premium superbike space that includes litre-class motorcycles such as the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R and BMW S 1000 RR. These bikes differ significantly in weight, power delivery and intended riding character, so buyers should compare specifications as well as price.

At Rs 19.90 lakh, it adds exclusive design elements over the Rs 18.99 lakh standard model, while both versions benefit from the lighter lithium-ion battery and revised electronic systems.
