Bajaj Auto is about to showcase an updated iteration of the Chetak Electric. The new updated Bajaj Chetak Electric will get a bigger battery pack, with a longer range and more features.
There will be two variants of the electric scooter – Urbane and Premium. The top-spec Premium trim will feature a larger 3.2kWh battery pack, offering an ARAI-certified range of 126km. The Chetak Electric is also expected to come equipped with a TFT colour display integrated with turn-by-turn navigation and smartphone connectivity. The display size is expected to be around five to seven inches wide.
The updated Bajaj Chetak is likely to be powered by a 4.25kW (5.7bhp) BLDC electric motor, which is expected to offer better performance compared to the existing model. A calculated guess suggests that the scooter will also likely have a higher top speed.
The Chetak Urbane variant, on the other hand, is likely to replace the existing Premium trim level. It is expected to come with the same 2.9kWh battery pack as the existing model, but it will offer a higher ARAI-certified range of 113km, which is 5km more than the current iteration. Even the Urbane variant is likely to offer a higher top speed.
The new Bajaj Chetak Electric will likely be launched in the next couple of months, but we won’t be surprised if Bajaj introduces it around mid-December 2023. As for its pricing, we expect the Premium trim to command a premium of Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 15,000 over the current version.
