Volkswagen Crosses 1.5 Million EV Sales

Volkswagen has reached yet another milestone in its electric journey-the company has now sold 1.5 million units of all-electric ID. models worldwide, achieving this feat just five years after the launch of the ID. family in late 2020.

Milestone Vehicle: The ID.7 Tourer Pro

The milestone vehicle, a silky black ID.7 Tourer Pro with an extremely generous range up to 606 km, was delivered at the EV-only plant in Emden, Germany. The key handover ceremony included not just Volkswagen officials but also the Minister President of Lower Saxony, marking a declaration of the utmost seriousness with which the brand views electric mobility.

Strong Presence in the European EV Market

The achievement puts Volkswagen in the spotlight, marking the automaker as a major player in the European EV market, with its ID. family models entering into mainstream consciousness as popular choices in their very own right-ID.3, ID.4, ID.5, ID.7, ID. Buzz! Earlier this year, ID.7 Tourer was the leading EV in registrations in Germany.

Sustainable Production at Emden Plant

The transformation of the Emden plant into an all-electric one stands as evidence of Volkswagen’s complete conversion toward sustainable production. Besides, the automaker is fast-tracking its production footprint across numerous far-flung sites, from Chattanooga in the US to several places in China.

Upcoming Affordable ID. Models

Building on this momentum, Volkswagen is gearing up to unveil more affordable ID. models. The compact ID. 2all is expected in 2026, with an ID. EVERY1 slated for 2027, aimed at making electric mobility more accessible.

A Step Toward a Sustainable Future

Volkswagen’s latest milestone is more than just a number—it symbolizes the brand’s steadfast push toward a more electric, sustainable future. And with accessible new models on the way, the ride is reaching more people than ever before.
