The Dzire joins other Maruti Suzuki models like Alto and Swift in surpassing the 3 million mark after almost 17 years, therefore underlining its presence in both domestic and international markets.
Maruti Suzuki India Limited has hit three million units of total manufacturing with its Dzire vehicle. Eleven years and eleven months after the car’s March 2008 launch, this mark was attained. Earlier goals in April 2015 were one million units and in June 2019 were two million units. Three million units of production have been passed other Maruti Suzuki models like the Alto, Swift, and Waggon.
Hiroshi Takeuchi, managing director and CEO of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, hailed customer support for reaching this benchmark. With his elegant appearance and updated features, he highlighted the freshly unveiled Dzire. Over the years, the performance of the company’s sedan category has been influenced Dzire.
Originally debuted in 2008, the Dzire was followed in 2012 and 2017 models representing second and third generations, respectively. Introduced in November 2024, the fourth-generation car has modern designs, rebuilt interiors, and new technologies.
Apart from its popularity in the house, the Dzire has been valued in other markets. Since exports began in October 2008, around 2.6 lakh units have been shipped to 48 countries, including Latin America, Central America, Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. From Maruti Suzuki’s fiscal years 2023–24, the Dzire was the second most exported model.
JATO Dynamics verified data shows the Dzire has remained a main sedan in India; one in every two compact vehicles sold there is a Dzire. The fourth most sold car from Maruti Suzuki in India, it is also among the top five export models.
