Shivaji Kadam Experience with his Yamaha R15

Yamaha R15

Every teenage boy has a dream of owning a sports bike. The aggressive styling, razor-sharp handling, and pure adrenaline rush from riding a sports bike have always mesmerized me. This dream turned into reality when I bought the Yamaha R15 Version 2.0. The bike, for me, was much more than a motorcycle; it was passion, an extension of my soul.

First Impression

When I first saw the R15 V2.0 in the showroom, I was in complete awe. The aerodynamic, subdued design, sharp twin-headlamp, and split-seat layout would inform anybody that this is a superbike. The delta box frame and high-raised rear end were actually an asset to its sporty stance. With no second thought, I knew, here was my bike.

Riding the Experience

The R15-V2.0 gave me the first impression of smooth and powerful performance. The 149.8 cc liquid-cooled engines were fun and pretty solid to ride, delivering a maximum output of 16.8 BHP and 15 Nm torque. The 6-speed gearbox smoothly transferred all that power to the rear tire, perfect for some fun on the highway.

One thing that I really liked about the bike was the handling. From slicing through twisty roads to threading through an army of daily commuters, the R15 felt steady and very responsive. The front-end cornering was looked after the telescopic forks, while the rear-linked mono-shock suspension offered decent comfort through a somewhat aggressive seating position over bumps.

Long Rides & Comfort

As for the sportbike, riding with the R15 V2.0 is very aggressive and not so much fun on long rides. But then again, that is just a very small price to pay for someone who absolutely wants speed and performance. I personally have done long highway rides on my R15, and it just becomes easier after getting used to the pose. To make it even more fun, the 140 mm rear width gives immense grip to keep me confident throughout all these highways.

Fuel Efficiency and Maintenance

In as much as bike performance is concerned, an average fuel economy of between 40 and 45 km/l is worth the investment. Being a Yamaha, the bike has been quite easy to maintain. Just regular servicing and chain lubrication now and then, along with some checks, to keep the bike running smoothly.

Conclusion
Owning a Yamaha R15 V2.0 has been a dream come true. It is an entire package in terms of looks, performance, and handling, and finds a place among the best entry-level sports bikes. Every ride sends an adrenaline rush through my veins. If speed and precision thrill you, then Yamaya R15 V2.0 is your best bet!
